Blogtoberfest Day 18 - Postcards

Blogtoberfest Day 18. I am in real danger of losing my voice due to a dreaded lurgy and it is making me feel quite blah. So I decided on a short sweet post today on Postcards. A little while ago, I instigated a new "swap" amongst DUST team members on the DUST team forum. A postcard swap. I figured it was a good way to "meet" fellow DUSTers and share in their part of Australia without having to leave home. I also figured it was a good financially viable alternative for those who wanted to swap something but couldn't commit financially to craft swaps. Something for everyone I thought. So the Great Postcard Swap was born. I got a postcard from Dee at rabbitandme which depicts the Bathing Boxes at Brighton !

I have also received postcards as gifts from GasBombGirl,   Jubly-Umph and travellingbeautifull

thank you postcards from attiladesign , ableandgame and Glass Candy

and also from Rainbow Revolution, missIsaau, felicia fairy, C Percy Designs and Faerie Majikk

And last but not least, I really have to mention three heartfelt and exceptionally special personal thankyou postcards from Melanie of  wiccked and Jade of gazpacho soup.

Now, before I go and make another hot honey and lemon drink, I would like to introduce Karma County, another fab Australian band. I have taken an excerpt from their blurb on the Karma County website http://www.karmacounty.com.au/  to give you a little background on their music and style.

"When Karma County first arrived in 1995, the Australian music scene was still in the grip of the Seattle grunge sound. Eyebrows were raised, when they first walked on to the stages of indie pop strongholds like the Sando and the Annandale Hotel in Sydney with an acoustic guitar, a double bass, not much more than a snare drum, a box of percussion and a voice. In their own way, over the past six years, they have waltzed their way into the hearts and minds of music fans all over the world.

From the initial acoustic strummings of 'Postcard' to the funky twang of "The Men Who Ran Away From The Circus" they have ranged across an eclectic music terrain to conjure their own sonic landscape - lush, melodious, intelligent, emotive songs and sounds.

They're proud of their artistic independence and have maintained their singular edge through raw talent and a hands-on approach to the music business. Drummer Stuart Eadie creates and co-ordinates the band's visual imagery (album sleeves, t-shirts, web design, adverts), singer/guitarist Brendan Gallagher produces the music whilst bassist Michael Galeazzi a.k.a. Mr Enthusiasm, rings them all up, and anybody else who will listen, and tells them what legends they are."

I hope you enjoy listening to their song "Postcard" see you all tomorrow for Blogtoberfest Day 19 xo
