Blogtoberfest Day 18 - Savage Kitten Does Frocktober

Hello Day 18 of Blogtoberfest! Wow - we are over halfway now through the Blogtoberfest challenge. Today I want to share with you a more sombre topic,
"Frocktober"
I want you to meet my dear friend Kim from the fabulous Savage Kitten.
This wonderful artist and maker is donning a different dress for each day of Frocktober to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Research. This is a cause that is near and dear to Kim's heart -  "Ovarian Cancer touched my life when I lost my mum at 16 years of age. My mum was only 42. Any support for this great cause is welcomed. Thank you so much"
Would you like to help Kim to support this amazing cause? You can donate here: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/kim_wheeler
For those not so familiar with Frocktober, here is a little more information for you to read.

"Frocktober 2012 for Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation"

http://www.everydayhero.com.au/event/frocktober2012/thecause

"In Australia, one woman dies every 10 hours from ovarian cancer.

The key to changing this statistic and giving women with ovarian cancer a better long-term outlook is early detection. The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is Australia’s pre-eminent body supporting ovarian cancer research.
Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death of all gynaecological cancers; an insidious disease that often strikes without warning. At present ovarian cancer is commonly diagnosed at advanced stage with only 20-30% of women surviving beyond five years, compared to more that 90% when the disease is detected and treated early.
A pap smear does not detect ovarian cancer. The OCRF is dedicated to proper research into this currently not-well-understood disease.

To help us achieve our research goals and to save women’s lives, the OCRF needs the financial support of the community. We can change these statistics with your help."
