Happy Good Friday dear readers, I hope this blog post finds you well. What have you planned for the Easter long weekend? Maddabling intends on meeting up with her market buddy and we will hit the Denmark Arts Markets and have a spot of lunch somewhere nice. Maddabling will also head to Art in the Park at the Porongurups - hoping to get some snaps to share with you.
This week I introduce to you some new Friday Friends, local makers and the dynamic seamstress duo Tam Made This + Becky Made That.
I just LOVE their work and have purchased lovely things from them for gifts in the past. Here are some faves that I have picked out from their lovely facebook albums. Firstly some super pretty flag bunting ♥
Secondly, some darling Girls Pinafores - so so sweet!
And last but not least, how divine is this Peace Cushion - LOVE!
Dear readers, I invite you to sit back and relax, even if for a short while and enjoy The Tam Made This + Becky Made That Story. Have a fantastic long weekend x♥o
The Tam Made This + Becky Made That Story
Hi, we are Tamara and Becky and we stitch under the guise of Tam Made This
+ Becky Made That and our superpower is sewing. We both come from creative
families, especially our mums. Becky has a background in florist and Tam in
Have-a-go.We are two mamma's that love to sew, create and have a huge passion for colour. That passion has lead us down the path of a slight addiction with fabric. We harness this addiction together by turning those lovely pieces of cloth into a huge range of sewn goodies.
We love making quilts, pillows, fabric boxes, a few softies here and there, with our latest order a batch of camels off to Broome. We really enjoy helping people out with custom orders and have used this for a few lovely lounge room/deck makeovers with fresh cushions and throws that our customers have provided the fabric for, or have chosen to match their new decor.
At the moment we are into using recycled jeans, hand cutting and stitching back into quilts and pillows and making some heirloom pieces with dollies added as well. We also have between us a rather large stash of vintage sheets, these have been source mostly locally with many a day scouring our op-shops and we are starting to incorporate these more and more, old and new into our quilts, pillows and women's dresses and tunic tops.
We bring our goods to the renowned Denmark Markets, that will next be on Easter Saturday 19th April from 10am-4pm.
We are also a frequent feature of local markets, the next being The Vancouver Street Fair that will be held on the 3rd May at the Vancouver Arts Centre and this will coincide with the Great Southern Art Award and is part of the Western Australia Heritage Trail.
For the coming year we hope to have some of our quilts, cushions and possibly women's clothing into some independent stores that support local handmade goods. It gives us strong sense of community working along side other creatives with the shop local and handmade ideals.
Check us out on Facebook, we regularly post new creations, this is the ONLY media outlet we use, for we would rather be sewing !! https://www.facebook.com/TamMadeThatBeckyMadeThis
