Friday Friends - Dusty Divas - Part 22 - Epheriell
Welcome to Friday lovely readers, the weekend is so close now I can almost taste it !
In edition 22 of the Dusty Divas series, I am stoked to introduce a very special Friday Friend and Dusty Diva this week - Jess from Epheriell & *bespoke*zine.
I love the creations that Jess makes - I have a pair of Silver Spirals - Urban Eco Sterling Silver Earrings and the Simplicity Sea Glass Pendant - Wrapped in Sterling and the new sterling silver nose ring
Jess is truly a tireless promoter of all things handmade, the DUST team, is a creatively crafty lass and a fabulous indie silversmith. Two years ago on the 18th October, Epheriell was born ! Wishing an exceptionally Happy Belated Etsy-Birthday to the lovely Jess & Epheriell and congratulations on the launch of *bespoke*
The handmade world salutes you !
The terrific tale of Jess, Epheriell and *bespoke*
Hi all, I'm Jess, and I hail from the countryside about an hour north of Brisbane. We love living in the country, it's so quiet, with birds and animals all around. We'll often take our cat for a walk around the property of an afternoon (no, not on a leash – he's just very much a people-cat and will follow you around everywhere when he's awake!).
I run my business full-time, making jewellery,
blogging,
and launching a new Aussie zine called *bespoke*.
I discovered that I LOVED creating, making, working with my hands. I went from knitting to crochet
to beads to resin to metal... and fell in love with metalworking. The Epheriell style as it exists now really started to come into being in mid-2009.
I make sleek, contemporary jewellery using predominately recycled sterling silver – silver that is sourced from industrial processes and refined again to make eco-friendly metal! I love that I can use recycled materials in my designs.
My work is modern yet fun – I want my jewellery to become people's 'go-to' jewellery – something you love to wear every day, not just put away for a special occasion.
I've had many people tell me that their pair of Urban Eco earrings have become the pair they wear every day, which is fantastic!
When I started Epheriell, I also started a blog – EpheriellDesigns.comIt now has over 1,600 subscribers, and many hundreds of daily readers. I blog every day about handmade style, indie art and design, and crafty resources. And then there is *bespoke* a brand-new Aussie zine. It is edited and published by me, businesswoman and handmade advocate. *bespoke* is a lovely tactile A5 package - printed in full colour and delivered to your door!
Full of interviews, stories, art and photography features, micro-biz advice, tutorials and product features, *bespoke* aims to inspire, nourish, and support the handmade community.
I have already committed to a second issue (Due out March 15, 2011) and I need you! *bespoke* is written by the handmade community, for the handmade community... so if you have a story, article idea, product, art or anything else you think would suit *bespoke*, make sure to visit the 'submissions' page on the site and get in touch.

Friday Friends - Part 21 Dusty Divas - Gypsy Rose Creations
Welcome lovely readers - another working week over and it's time to start the countdown to the weekend ! It's edition 21 of the Dusty Diva's series ! This week I have a very special Dusty Diva to introduce - Michelle of Gypsy Rose Creations
Michelle's gemstone creations are nothing short of absolutely stunning and have therapeutic qualities as well ! What more could one ask for......
Actually, I could happily add any one of these lovely creations to my ever growing jewellery collection - how beautiful is this necklace called Eclipse made of rose, lilac and creme druzy pearls, bali silver beads and a sublime black Agate druzy pendant
or perhaps these gorgeous Tangled Web Earrings made using silvertone artistic wire and peacock blue and white freshwater pearls, and faceted aqua aura briolettes
and next two of my all time favourite stones feature in Amberlesence
a choker necklace featuring a huge bali silver filigree ball as the centre piece, surrounded by orange amber chips and 4 chunky turquoise nuggets
the elegant Ice Crystals earrings using silvertone jumprings links which are finished with a flat, faceted aqua quartz beads
and my absolute personal favourite Spicy made from gorgeous red coral stems, coral chips, coral rounds and discs, and some silvertone flower space for contrast.
Now I invite you to settle in and relax while you read the beautiful tale of Michelle & Gypsy Rose Creations.
The Tale of Gypsy Rose Creations
I live in the Southern Suburbs of Perth WA, surrounded by my beloved pets (namely birds, a cheeky rainbow Lorikeet (who drinks my coffee), chooks, ducks, 3 dogs, 2 cats, a goat/dog (he thinks he is a dog) and a beautiful python called Jasmine (love of my life)).
I also have an assortment of wildlife that come in for healing at various times. We also grow fruit and vegies. So it’s a very calming, joyous place to live.
I am a big advocate for gemstone healing and have been involved with it since my teens. I never leave the house without a number of stones adorning my body.
I started making jewellery about 10 years ago as I was a stay at home mum and wanted to save money.
Since then I have started my Etsy store, followed a few years later by my own website and now my facebook fan page. So there are a number of avenues available to my clients.
I create one off ready made pieces as well as custom healing pendants and necklaces, which have proved a huge success.
Clients who have purchased these healing pieces have stated that they feel so good when wearing them.
I have since found out that when I create these pieces I'm infusing them with healing energy.
Im passionate about my craft and for the most part, find it very relaxing and therapeutic.
